Week 9 Waiver Wire: Allgeier Leads a Wild Week of Adds
Week 9 waiver wire: Tyler Allgeier, Mike Washington Jr., Antonio Williams and more. Who to add, who to stash and who to cut before Sunday.
Week 8 broke a lot of lineups. Lamar Jackson is on IR, the Cardinals' backfield is down to one healthy name, Terry McLaurin is done for the year, and the Raiders' backfield flipped on its head. That's pain for some managers and opportunity for everyone else.
Pittsburgh and Tennessee are on bye in Week 9, so if you roster Steelers or Titans, you have holes to fill too.
Already past your waiver run? Most of these players will still be sitting in free agency in plenty of leagues. Check your own league's Top Waiver Wire to see who's actually available to you, and tap any player card to see how many points he'd add to your lineup this week.
Here's what our board says are the top adds right now:
Running Backs
Tyler Allgeier, Cardinals: the top add of the week
If you have one big bid to make, make it here. Jeremiyah Love is on IR with an ankle injury and Zonovan Knight is in the concussion protocol, which leaves Allgeier as the Cardinals' lead back. He made the most of it in Week 8 with 147 rushing yards, five catches and two total touchdowns.
Knight could be back within a week, so this may turn into a split. But with Love out, Allgeier has the inside track to the most work in Arizona. Bid aggressively.
Mike Washington Jr., Raiders
The Raiders' backfield took a turn. Washington played about 60% of the snaps over Ashton Jeanty in Week 8 and handled 25 carries. He's been the more efficient runner, too. If you have Jeanty, don't drop him: he can win his job back. If you don't, Washington is a strong add and could become the early-down back for the rest of the season.
Devin Singletary, Giants
Tyrone Tracy Jr. is on IR and Cam Skattebo is dealing with a hamstring. If Skattebo can't go, Singletary is the likely lead back for the Giants. He's a low-cost flex option if you're scrambling to cover the byes.
Chris Rodriguez Jr., Jaguars
Bhayshul Tuten's ankle and foot injury puts his Week 9 in doubt, and Rodriguez has been running well with three touchdowns this season and goal-line work. Keep an eye on Tuten's practice reports. The Jaguars play Thursday night, so you'll know early.
Stash list
These are bench adds, not starters, unless the player ahead of them gets hurt:
Seth McGowan, Colts: his value depends on whether Jonathan Taylor gets traded.
Kenneth Gainwell, Buccaneers: has run well the last two weeks behind Bucky Irving, but don't chase the numbers.
Emmett Johnson, Chiefs: caught all five targets for 128 yards and a score in Week 8. Only a starter if Kenneth Walker III misses time.
Samaje Perine, Bengals: the top handcuff to Chase Brown.
Wide Receivers
Antonio Williams, Commanders
With McLaurin out for the season, Williams is stepping into a bigger role. The rookie ran routes on most dropbacks and caught five of seven targets in Week 8. He's the best PPR add at receiver this week and has a full-season path to targets.
Makai Lemon, Eagles
DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) are both banged up, and Lemon has drawn 17 targets the last two weeks. If Smith misses more time, Lemon could be Philadelphia's top receiver.
Ryan Flournoy, Cowboys
He's quietly cleared 11 PPR points in four straight games with two touchdowns in that stretch. With George Pickens and Jake Ferguson both dealing with injuries, Flournoy has a real role right now.
Adonai Mitchell, Jets
Mitchell went off in Week 8 with seven catches, 142 yards and a touchdown. He still shares targets with Garrett Wilson and Omar Cooper Jr., so expect ups and downs. He's a high-ceiling bench add, not a weekly lock.
DeMario Douglas, Patriots
A.J. Brown's knee and ankle put his Week 9 in doubt, and Hunter Henry is nursing a foot injury. If Brown sits, Douglas is the Patriots' top target. A short-term pickup with upside.
Quarterbacks
Malik Willis, Dolphins is the best streamer on the board. He's scored 18-plus fantasy points in three straight games, and a soft stretch of matchups is next.
Bo Nix, Broncos has strung together two strong weeks and is still available in a lot of leagues.
Carson Wentz, Vikings is the deep add. If Kyler Murray's hamstring keeps him out against Buffalo, Wentz starts, and he's already had a big game filling in this season.
Lamar Jackson managers: Jackson's thumb injury could be season-ending, and Tyler Huntley is out with turf toe. That leaves Joe Fagnano for Baltimore on Thursday night. Find your replacement now.
Tight Ends
Greg Dulcich, Dolphins is the streamer of the week. He's caught nine passes for 129 yards over the last two games, and Detroit has allowed the most fantasy points to tight ends.
Mark Andrews managers: with Jackson and Huntley both out, Andrews' outlook takes a big hit. He's droppable in shallow leagues.
Who to Cut
Mark Andrews, Ravens: see above. The Ravens' QB room is in rough shape.
Chris Godwin, Buccaneers: not much production in a run-heavy offense.
Jaylin Noel, Texans: on IR and done for the year.
Hold for now: Ashton Jeanty and Josh Downs. Jeanty can win his job back, and Downs could get a boost if he's traded before the deadline.
